The only things I don't like about F45 so far which might vary studio from studio but they push heavily that they are more PREMIUM option to OTF. I like that F45 has timed approach with sets repeating twice or sometimes three times so you can really concentrate on the form and process vs trying to do 30 reps and run to rower. OTF would push for number of reps and then go to rower or something else so naturally i'd always feel like i didn't want to be the last one to go (yes I know I shouldn't care). The biggest improvement i see for me at F45 is the fact that you don't feel rushed through exercised. I've never been to Shred415 so cannot comment on it. My studio does some days with mostly weight training and some days have more of a cardio style work out while still using weights but a lot of body weight exercises in between. F45 is definitely a lot more weight training but it also depends on the days. I've been going to OTF for several years before switching to F45 quite recently. I will take their circuit fit class here and there. I dont want super heavy weights, like 15-30lbs. I am not into Crossfit, though I have tried it out by me and loved the studio and people. I need 30 min of weights vs just 14.5 during an hour class. Really wanting to get back to my Shred body and OTF just isn't cutting it. What is a pod? How many people are in a class? Is it similar to Shred or Crosstown or Sweat (also Chicago based that had HIIT and AMRAP workouts, not crossfit). I've checked out a few of the exercises on this page. I have seen F45 pop up a few times here and there. I also loved being able to sign up for Abs/Arms days, Butt/Leg days or Total Body depending on what areas I wanted to focus on (or needed a break from). I feel like I had much better overall workout at Shred. I've been going 5-6 days a week for 2 months and see zero improvement. There is no Shred415 by me, so I joined OTF. Now, with COVID, I'm working from home and not going to Chicago. I can’t wait to GAIN more and further connected with everyone else post Covid! I am beyond grateful for the owners, Alice and Fadil, that continue to take efforts and make sacrifices during a pandemic to continue to build this community.Has anyone gone to Shred415 and/or Orange Theory? I used to work out at Shred414 in Chicago and was in the best shape of my life. I feel so much more confident with how I can grow in all areas of life and how I’ve changed physically is a tangible representation of just that. Shred415 has taught me to value myself during the process as a part of a strong fitness community. In just a year, I am 25 pounds lighter, 10 pounds stronger, and thankful for all I’ve gained beyond the scale! People around me have praised me for my discipline to show up at 6am everyday, but the workouts actually helped me through times of stress including working as a speech-language pathologist at schools, anxiety leaving toxic relationships, and extreme self-judgement in my “becoming.” I have a bad habit of waiting to love myself until I’ve met certain goals – which are actually pretty unrealistic if I’m being honest with myself. Each instructor has inspired me in ways I never expected and I am so grateful for them. Alicia uses her platform to inspire the entire fitness community in Seattle. brings just the right amount of positivity to painful moments, whether that be running at incline 10 or modeling how to be anti-racist. Fadil has shown me how to have fun and make jokes while Shredding – even at 5am! Ashley D. To name a few- Alice has taught me to value being strong vs. I have yet to meet everyone (as I am still a little shy) but am inspired by all who I’ve engaged with. I was always the person in a studio who popped in and out, hoping not to be noticed because I was embarrassed of being out of shape and wanted to get “skinny.” I was taking a personal risk to be open to the Shred415 community, and unexpectedly learned that the discomfort of challenging myself doesn’t have to be unpleasant. In just a year, I am 25 pounds lighter, 10 pounds stronger, and thankful for all I’ve gained beyond the scale!īefore Shred415 Seattle, I was really skeptical about the idea of a gym becoming my community.
